My Story
My journey into counselling began with a genuine curiosity about people, how our experiences shape the way we think, feel and behave, and how we navigate change and difficult periods in our lives.
With a background in Psychology and postgraduate training in Counselling Psychology, I have had the opportunity to work with clients presenting with a wide range of concerns and life experiences. These experiences have shaped my belief that counselling should be individualised rather than follow a fixed formula.
My approach is integrative, drawing primarily from Person-Centred and Existential Therapy, while incorporating principles from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Choice Theory where appropriate. I adapt these approaches according to each client's needs, goals and way of understanding their experiences.
For me, counselling is a collaborative process. Rather than applying a predetermined set of techniques, I aim to understand each client as an individual and work alongside them to explore their thoughts, emotions, behaviours, values and choices. My hope is to provide a space where clients feel understood and supported while developing greater clarity, self-awareness and agency in moving forward.
I continue to grow as a counsellor through practice, research and ongoing learning, with the belief that every client and every therapeutic journey offers an opportunity to learn something new.
